Kūʻokoʻa ʻĀina Based Leadership, Graduate Certificate

The Kūʻokoʻa ʻĀina Based Leadership graduate certificate is a 16-credit program designed to cultivate aloha ʻāina leaders connected to and caring for Hawaiʻi’s ʻāina (land and resources) using interdisciplinary skills grounded in a strong foundation of ʻike kūpuna (ancestral knowledge). This certificate is designed for individuals interested in or professionals already working in mālama ʻāina fields.

Requirements


  • A 3.0 GPA in all required and related courses in the minor
  • A grade of C or better is required for continuation, unless otherwise noted.

16 Credit Hours of Required Coursework


Electives (6 credits)


Elective courses are highly recommended due to availability and relevance. Substitutions are accepted with pre-approval by advisor.

Capstone (1 credit)


A required course for students to present a synthesized project at a culminating end of program hō’ike.
